Tampa International Airport

Tampa International Airport TPA serves Florida’s West Coast, Hillsborough & Pinellas County & their major cities of Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater. It has been recognized as one of the best airports in the nation and the world in global consumer surveys.
It is the gateway to Florida’s spectacular West Coast, as well to all of Florida’s many attractions. It’s newest rating puts TPA at number 6 among top 10-most loved airports.

TPA Airport is a mere five miles west of downtown Tampa, situated between West Hillsborough Avenue 580, the Veterans Expwy. 589, and Route 616, and offers direct connection to the W Courtney Campbell Causeway to Clearwater, to the I-275 south to St. Petersburgh & Bradenton & Sarasota, to I-275 north connecting to I-4 West to Orlando.

With three runways and 18.9 million passengers in 2016, Tampa International Airport is served by major domestic and international airlines offering direct and connecting flights to all points of the globe including 87 non-stop routes.

This airport is publicly owned by Hillsborough County Aviation Authority. It has been praised for its architecture and Landside/Airside design of a central terminal (“landside”) connected by people movers to satellite gates (“airsides”), a pioneering concept when designed in the late 1960s and still a model for airport design today. The airport was called Drew Field Municipal Airport until 1952.
